Weekend at Hoenies is the chat's seventh name and the first to formally embed the hoen lexicon in its identity. It modifies the prior Weekend at HRMies (see Weekend at HRMies) by substituting hoen — at this point a roughly nine-month-old in-chat coinage (see Hoen for etymology) — for the original HRM. The result is a hybrid pun referencing both the 1989 film Weekend at Bernie's and the chat's own internal vocabulary.
Founding
Evan Bbbender executes the rename at 2022-07-30 02:19 UTC. Three weeks earlier the same Evan had already pre-tested Hoenies as a vocative, in two consecutive bare-word messages:

This is the corpus's earliest documented use of the plural noun form, and is therefore treated as the proximate evidence that Hoenies had achieved the necessary social weight to be promoted to a chat name.
Brevity
Despite its symbolic importance the name is replaced after only 9 days, when Evan himself sets Steamin' at Hennys on 2022-08-08. The encyclopedia interprets the brevity as Evan continuing to iterate on a single thematic seed; the same impulse that produced Weekend at Hoenies would, six months later, animate the more durable Oops, All Hoeny Boys (Cullen Conway, 2023-01-14).
